9/27 fireworks

I dont think certain cities should be able to just not allow something if the rest of the city is allowing it. Like if Maine allows fireworks then Portland shouldn't be able to be allowed to be the only city not allowing it. It's also not fair. If someone in Portland want to do fireworks then they have to go to another city and its not fair for them to waste their gas

9/23 culture

Probably my friends because if i hang out with them a lot i would probably start acting like them more.

9/21 time capsule

I would include the electronics we have so people can see what we had and see how different it is from theirs. And clothes because people might have clothes way different than ours are. And perfumes and make up. And a picture of our whole class

9/19 class distinctions

I don't think we should do that at south portland. I just think its stupid. I think its stupid because it would make the classes smaller so there would have to be more teachers. And i don't think boys distract girls or the other way around. I also don't think that girls don't speak up in class because there are boys there. Most people just don't speak up in class because they don't want to. I think it would make a lot of drama because there are a lot of guys and girls who are best friends so it would probably make them angry.

9/15 Civic Center Renovation

I think it's a good idea because they can make it bigger and hold more events and get more people to go so they would get more money. So even though its 33 million dollars, it would basically pay for itself because a lot more people would probably go. Also it's pretty cool how it would be different colors on the outside like in the photo.

9/13 Kwintessential

What I found surprising is that only 82% of people in America speak English. It's surprising because I thought more people would speak English. Everything else in the article is stuff that I already knew happened. Like when you great someone you smile and say hi or wave.

Culture

I am American. I celebrate the basic holidays like Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter etc. And I eat the food that normal American's eat. Like pizza, hot dogs, steak etc. I speak english. I wear normal clothes like jeans and shirts. I don't go to church or anything.

Summer Reading

I read To Kill a Mockingbird. It's about a black man that got accused of raping a white girl in a town in Alabama filled with really racist people. Scout and Jem's father, Atticus, defends the black man in trial and everyone in the town calls Atticus a nigger lover. When the time comes for the trial, the courthouse is filled with tons of people and I was pretty surprised about the ending. I recommend this to anyone.
